Lori Melnitsky, MA CCC-SLP is the director of All Island Speech and Stuttering Therapy in Plainview, NY. She has been treating children and adults who stutter and have speech/language disorders for over 18 years. She is a licensed and board certified Speech/Language Pathologist (SLP) who overcame a severe stuttering disorder and has dedicated her professional career to treating children and adults with communication difficulties. Individual therapy and evaluations are offered for various disorders, such as stuttering, apraxia, articulation/phonology, myofunctional (tongue thrust) and foreign accent reduction.
We offer PROMPT Certified (PROMPTS for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) and Beckman Oral Motor Therapy.
For stuttering/fluency, the Lidcombe Program for Early Childhood Stuttering and various Fluency Enhancement programs for fluency are available.
Lori holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and has received numerous continuing education awards from ASHA. She is co-chapter leader for the National Stuttering Association Support groups and on the advisory committee for online groups helping people who stutter.
Lori also holds membership in Division 4-Fluency and Fluency Disorders. She is a recipient of the prestigious Fortune 52 award presented to women in business. Lori Melnitsky has spoken at conventions and universities throughout the United States on the topic of stuttering. Consultations and educational workshops are provided to local preschools and school districts. Individual and Intensive therapy is provided to children and adults.
