Children have benefited from the Montessori Method of Education for over 100 years. Your child will prosper in his/her own subtle, creative way. We believe in educating the whole child by focusing on the child's willingness to accept and master new experiences. We know your child is coming to school because you sense that this is the right time. When you believe your child is ready for an experience apart from you, they will benefit and grow in this new kind of independence.
Our classroom is divided into 4 areas; Practical Life, Sensorial, Math & Language. Within these areas, your child will develop not only fine & gross motor skills, but also how to concentrate and focus. Dr. Montessori believed that children learn by using all of their senses. Remember, we never learn anything through words - but rather through direct experience. The materials in the classroom encourage the child to learn by self-motivation, coordination and concentration. This creates a life long love of learning.
Montessori Learning Centers have been educating LI families since 1983. Montessori Minds Preschool of Hauppauge is our 3rd location. Our goal is to provide a learning envirnment designed to meet the child's academic, social, emotional and physical needs. A child will learn skills for everyday living, sorting, grading, classifying-all of which lead to the development of writing, reading and a mathematical mind.
Our staff consists of dedicated, patient, caring, certified Montessori Teachers. Jackie is not only the Director, but she is also the lead teacher in class every day. We not only nurture the child, but also support the parent by encouraging them to communicate their ideas and concerns.

"Montessori Materials were designed so that when used in a proper sequence, gradually lead the children, over a period of several years, into an understanding of abstract ideas with a minimum of adult explanation and interference"
